Embracing the Entrepreneurial Journey: The Windshield vs. the Rearview Mirror

I recently attended a gathering of entrepreneurs where a poignant remark struck me: no matter how many great professional connections, friends, family, and associates I've had, they may not join me on this new path, and that's something I have to get used to.
Focus on the Future
The metaphor of the windshield being larger than the rearview mirror is powerful. The windshield symbolizes our future and opportunities, while the rearview mirror reflects our past. It’s crucial to focus on what lies ahead rather than dwell on past connections or reactions.
Who is my Tribe?
I keep asking myself this question. I'm seeking like-minded individuals who share my vision. Networking is essential for finding support and collaboration. Surrounding myself with those who understand my industry and the entrepreneurial spirit can provide the encouragement I need.
I Made a Tough Decision
Scrolling through Eventbrite, I saw that the Brooklyn Quilters Guild was having their annual Quilt Show on Saturday but it conflicted with a brunch I'd confirmed with college friends. As much as I wanted to go to the brunch, I chose the quilt show -- the "windshield" -- focusing on the vast opportunities that lie ahead!
