Lorraine O’Grady (Wellesley ‘55)
I was elated to see Lorraine O’Grady: Both/And at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College while attending my reunion at Wellesley this weekend. This exhibition is the first major career survey of the renowned conceptual artist and cultural critic whose work has challenged prevailing understandings around gender, race, and class.

Wellesley College Associate Professor of Art History Nikki Greene and President Paula Johnson at the Wellesley Alumnae of African Descent (WAAD) reception, discuss the significance of the gift of Lorraine O’Grady’s archives to the College.
This was an inspirational moment for me as I attempt to introduce The Sisters Godfrey Collection to the public and find it a home after my time as its curator has ended. If I were a student at Wellesley now, I’d definitely take a course with Professor Greene!
